Developing & Sustaining Effective Parent Advisory Committees Virtual Training

How can an active Parent Advisory Committee enhance a Program's effectiveness and strengthen the community?

This 2-half-day virtual training provided by the IAFSN prepares Program management staff to engage parents/caregivers in meaningful leadership opportunities that will strengthen both the Program and the participants' community leadership skills. Whether Programs are exploring setting up a new PAC or seeking to strengthen an existing one, this training will provide staff with the strategies and tools to develop a successful one.

The training is consistently highly-rated, with 100% of past participants indicating that the training as effective or very effective in enhancing their knowledge and skills around developing effective PACs, and 92% reported feeling prepared or well-prepared to develop PACs.

The training is co-trained by both staff who have supported the development of PACs and a parent leader who has served on various PACs, modeling the staff-parent leader partnership needed for their effective implementation.  Please note that the participation of Program decision-makers is essential to apply the training content successfully.
